Windy, Wet and dreary

December provided just about every variation of weather except for sun and snow in West Yorkshire. For the most part it was windy, wet and dreary with little daylight and every encouragement to join those wise enough to hibernate for the winter.
I managed to get two productive days, one with Mike Pickwell in Grimsby at the woodyard and another closer to Christmas with my brother in Leicester. There, the short eared owls put on a fine display in beautiful mid-afternoon December light and a first for me. And so we look forward to 2012 and the start of another cycle of seasons.
